POLICY & COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY

BLAISE DIAGNE AIRPORT

 

LAS demonstrates through its activities its commitment to implementing a policy that guarantees fair, safe, and independent access to airport facilities for all persons with visible and invisible disabilities, in accordance with national standards, international recommendations, and best practices for universal accessibility.

 

The objectives of this accessibility policy are to:

  • Comply with national and international commitments;
  • Ensure equitable access to the airport for all;
  • Integrate accessibility into all infrastructure;
  • Improve assistance for people with disabilities;
  • Make airport communications and information accessible;
  • Strengthen staff skills in terms of accessibility;
  • Develop participatory governance of accessibility;
  • Measure and evaluate performance in terms of accessibility;
  • Implement a process of continuous improvement of accessibility.

 

Thus, for the implementation of this policy, we are committed to

  • Implement the requirements of Senegalese Law No. 2010-15 on the rights of persons with disabilities, the provisions of the concession agreement in Article 10.2, and best airport practices;
  • Ensure that all persons, regardless of their condition, can access airport infrastructure, services, and information without discrimination;
  • Adapt and maintain our facilities (terminals, parking lots, etc.) in accordance with universal accessibility standards, with a view to continuous improvement;
  • Ensure that service providers put in place appropriate measures for persons with disabilities;
  • Verify that airport staff are trained to provide respectful, attentive, and professional care;
  • Develop more accessible information materials;
  • Raise awareness of accessibility among airport stakeholders;
  • Involve people with disabilities and representative associations in the evaluation of our measures, in order to better understand their needs and adapt our practices;
  • Monitor our commitments using clear indicators, carry out regular evaluations, and integrate appropriate tools to facilitate accessibility for all.

 

This policy is part of a strong commitment to making Dakar Blaise Diagne Airport accessible to all, where inclusion, dignity, and respect for fundamental rights are fully integrated into the strategy and culture.

To this end, it will be reviewed periodically and widely disseminated. It is the responsibility of each relevant entity to bring this policy to the attention of its staff and to ensure that the recommendations are implemented.
