LAS CARBON COMMITMENT CHARTER
In light of the climate emergency, Limak-AIBD-Summa (LAS) is committed to continuing its mission to operate Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) in a sustainable and responsible manner.
In this context, the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme requires, in addition to LAS’s own reduction efforts, that stakeholders also commit to these efforts. This charter provides a structural framework for the airport’s decarbonisation strategy by setting out the commitments expected of partners operating at the airport in order to meet ACA requirements and contribute to the overall reduction of the airport’s carbon footprint. Thus, this charter serves as a reference framework for airport stakeholders who jointly commit to:
- Adopting greenhouse gas emission reduction targets aligned with the trajectories of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC);
- Defining and implementing an action plan with achievable reduction measures;
- Regularly and transparently report reliable emissions data, necessary for monitoring and verifying progress;
- Periodically report using key performance indicators;
- Attend meetings of the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee;
- Develop a partnership plan demonstrating that the airport actively encourages third parties to reduce their own emissions.
Together, we are committed to a rigorous approach that complies with international standards, aimed at sustainably reducing emissions from the airport.
